Blog Design

When designing this blog, I wanted to keep it simple.  I haven't changed the original template very much, as I felt the dark background gave good contrast to the text.  Most of the text is either in white or grey, with the Title and Widgets in a neon green.  I felt that this gave good contrast and allowed the reader to see the different areas and parts of the site.  Also, by having the darker background and color scheme, any videos or pictures in my blog posts seem to "pop", and really draw your attention.  I placed the widgets that I felt would be used the most on the right sidebar, and then used a video bar down near the footer.  My Feedback form is just above the video bar, as it is rather large, and I felt it looked best near the bottom of the page, though I would rather have it on its own Page.  Overall, I feel the site is easy to navigate, organized in a basic way, and is designed to be minimalistic, yet still being very modern and bright.

I saw an ad for this video during the Super Bowl the other night, and thought I'd post it! Most people probably didn't catch the commercial during the game, but I saw that it was Ok Go and knew I had to look it up!  Their videos are always very entertaining, and the songs are pretty catchy too.

Also, I wanted to show that I can embed a video in HTML, so points for me!

Welcome!

Hi there! Welcome to my blog! I've started this blog for my MC 390 class, but I'd like to keep working on it and actually post on it regularly. Chances are, that won't happen, but there's always hope, right? Hopefully I'll put more time to it that my other blogs I've attempted to start. You better hope so too, because you definitely don't wanna miss out on my adventures at the University of Montevallo!

I don't want this blog to be all about music, since I've tried that and failed, or hockey, as I've tried that as well, but I'll occasionally post a video of a song I like, or rant about hockey just a bit. Just be prepared for alot of random posts, with no real main topic. Either that will make you come back every day hoping for some great insight, or possibly you'll just write this blog off right now.

Hopefully not the latter.
